Vocational Services

By selecting United Disability Services as your choice for Vocational Services, individuals have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of challenging job tasks while sharpening skills, developing new ones, or even preparing for employment in the community.
In a clean, friendly workshop environment, individuals are supported in learning the job skills and good work habits they will use every day, whether in a workshop or employment in the community. We also help individuals build on strengths and develop relationships with co-workers and supervisors. Of course, another reward of this program is that participants get paid. The amount earned, however, depends on the type, amount and quality of work.
Types of work include sub-assembly, collating, packaging or gift basket assembly as a member of our Buckeye Baskets assembly team. Through our procurement and business development efforts, we are always looking for new opportunities to be able to offer consistent work that will interest and challenge our clients.
We want our clients to get the most from their work experience. To help ensure success, we will evaluate their progress and assess any needs they may have – special equipment, for example – on a regular basis.
Vocational Services are offered at our Akron, Kent and Twinsburg facilities. Contact us online or call 330.762.9755 for more information or to schedule a tour to meet the staff and talk with the people who use our services.
