With the closing of the Parent Coalition for Persons with Disabilities (PCPD) in July, UDS has assumed the operation of the Family Voices of Ohio grant previously managed by PCPD.
Jennifer Wolford Greathouse, the program's health information specialist, is available to provide assistance to families of children with special healthcare needs by providing information about public and private healthcare, special education, transition to adult services and community resources. Peer support is also available to families either on a one to one basis or in a support group setting. Toy Librarian Melanie Crockett with also be assisting families to find appropriate resources when needed.
Both women are parents of children with special needs and bring personal experience to their roles in helping families experiencing the complexities of the healthcare system. Anyone in need of help or more information can contact Jennifer Wolford Greathouse or Melanie Crockett by calling 330-762-9755 or by email at Jenniferwolford@ymail.com or mcrockett@udsakron.org.
